You can do anything you want! If it’s not too hard and you’re not too tired. Basically, you can do some things, occasionally

Across continents and millennia, what truly unites humanity is our need to be left the fuck alone at home.

Years ago I bought an interactive map & guide to Anhk-Morpork, very impressive, with both a map and an aerial view up to the last detail. The app never updated and soon become incompatible, big loss. I dismantled it and recovered the 23766 tiles of 256x256 pixels each that composed the two images. I've been slowly rebuilding the aerial one into a giant 24064 x 16896 px image. Already 3/4 done. I intend to print a great poster for my studio. Detail is insane. #GNUTerryPratchett #DiscWorld
The mathematician John Venn was born on this day in 1834. To commemorate the occasion, here’s a poem in the form of a Venn diagram.
This. Just, this.

I agree but I also appreciate those fascists & racists who do blow up. It means I don't have to waste too much time being convivial to them also very few people are going to complain if I happen to(accidently) kick their behind.
@Kruku ...but... if they had been taught ER they wouldn't be fascists and racists you see...
@VeroniqueB99
Hmm... not in public perhaps. But I believe they would then have an inclination to pose as lefty moderates that always wheel out excuses for fascism & racism. "Sir" Starmer making excuses for Israel's genocide being a case in point.
@Kruku yeah but a small very manageable number...
@VeroniqueB99
Not convinced but lets hope so.
@Kruku 👍 what else do we have but hope...🤷‍♀️

@VeroniqueB99 @Kruku

Vee had a good point, which was dismissed without providing a counterpoint. It bears repeating: "...if they had been taught ER they wouldn't be fascists and racists..."

People turn to control and racism to relieve their own fear and shame. If they had better emotional regulation, then they wouldn't go down the paths of fascism/racism to begin with.

@jadon1 @VeroniqueB99
I hope that's true. I have no argument against teaching people how to regulate their emotions. Even if it was widely practiced and didn't prevent the emergence of 70% of fascists & reactionaries it is still useful for the rest of us and I speak from personal experience.
@Kruku @jadon1 "widely practiced"? Where? This is talking about families and from birth...
@VeroniqueB99 @jadon1
Yes I know the practice is meant for from birth. But it is applicable for adults. I tried to come to turns with my feelings in my 20s. It didn't work then but eventually I came to be able to monitor my feelings & act without letting my more negative feelings effect interactions with others.
@Kruku @jadon1 Oh of course it works at any age... but better spend 6 months lying on a couch at 6yo than spend 6 years on that couch at 60yo...
@VeroniqueB99 @jadon1
Yes but even that depends on the counsellor. My psychoanalyst was one of the reasons I felt the need to explore my feelings🤣
@Kruku @jadon1 🤣🤣🤣👍
@VeroniqueB99 @jadon1
What can you do? But I do think teaching kids & people to be aware of their own emotions as they interact with others and offer them advice on the how to handle their feelings is a good idea. The best emotional therapy is self administered.
@VeroniqueB99 Great insight. Do you know where this is from?

@VeroniqueB99

So true - from a grandfather, one of who’s grandsons, aged 17, is having an absolute paddy because we won’t use money we saved for him to buy a moped.

@VeroniqueB99 So true. Sadly I don’t see that skill being taught or exemplified much. Rather the opposite. Especially in today’s polarized environment.
