Pretty surprised to see local Cons coming out in favour of Proportional Representation, to be honest but...

BRING IT ON!

Not a bad spot to be buried, I reckon...

After a series of negotiations that were completely non-adversarial and thoroughly enjoyable, and done at pace...

Wealden to be run by Green and Lib Dem alliance after Tory election defeat

The Conservatives lost control of Wealden for the first time in 25 years in May's local elections.

BBC News

Let me warm to my theme.

45 seats. Fact.
13 Lib Dems. Fact.
11 Greens. Fact.

13+11=24
50% x 45 = 22.5 = 23
24 > 23

Maths and facts must defeat bluster, fictions, and rage. Every time.

Asking me "Are you sure?" over and over, and going redder and redder whilst doing so, is just a bit well... daft.

One thing that has surprised me so far in my 'career' as a Councillor is the strident and combative way in which some folk advance opinions which are factual incorrect, and get angry and upset when you politely, calmly point this out.

Basic stuff like how many seats on District Council, distribution of same across parties and, thus, what is needed for a majority.

45 seats on council. 23 needed for a simple majority. No overall control. Will be some interesting discussions over the next few days.
Greens got elected then.
Didn't we do well?

A week of much time on two wheels and two feet, with a spot of being driven about in the rain by a volunteer, as we enter the last phase of canvassing and literature delivery before the poll next week.

Our poster boards are everywhere.

Went out canvassing by bike today. Really rural houses, spread out down tiny lanes.

Only did 22km of riding and about 7km of walking on top, long unsurfaced drives, and so much getting on and off the bike, and my legs are utterly broken.

And I've to do the same tomorrow, sob.
