Found a neat schematic for a valve amp using a pair of ECL80s, so why not give it a go ~

(There's many reasons not to give it a go, but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained...)

Doing some surgery on the little Schaller amp. Two of the transistors in the tremolo channel had legs that had rusted through entirely, no wonder it wasn't working!

Schaller's approach to populating the board appears to have been 'fuck the schematic, what transistors do we actually have in stock right now?'

@MassanOtter Absolutely! Really tempted to build a hammer effect speaker cab to match!

Did you know the airlines have /no/ rules about carrying dragons? Though they've started adding flameproof liners to select overhead lockers.

@rktic Thank you! I managed to find a schematic this morning, by searching in German rather than English. :P
@Thatonepersonwithaface It is indeed the West German Schaller - And it's certainly possible :D

One fluke eBay win, and I have a new friend! Say hello to the Schaller Solo, a 25W 'universal amplifier' from the cusp of the 70s, containing eleven transistors and with a built-in tremolo. Advertised as for 'guitar, organ and other instruments'. So cute and tiny, who could resist?

The tremolo channel sadly doesn't work at all, but I can't find a schematic that I could use to fix it. Might have to reverse engineer the PCB at this rate. Anyone on Fedi know where I might source a schematic for this thing?

@Beckydog Oops, it fell in the lab's waste chemical disposal unit. >.>;

A glorious day at work.

We always got the most basic, horrible bulk catering box of instant coffee in the break room. People complained and complained that the other offices around the country had nicer coffee, so the office manager relented and said we could get better... Once the existing stockpile was used up.

Today is that day. Actively celebrating getting rid of all the terrible coffee and welcoming in something better. xD
