Fred got very expressionist, apparently he'd just squeeze & smear paint strait from tube onto canvas. What made me think of him from the post of the trees was reading how, in a couple of series of his called the YouYangs, after a native forest, it was there from the patterns of light through the trees that he learned how to divide space vertically.. Or something. I've been there and the trees are these tall spindly close packed sticks with a tuft on top, & looking through you can see what he means, space is sliced. When he went to England his day job was at some prestige framers. Story goes he's in gallery one day, walks straight by the Renoirs, person w him says "I thought Renoir was a fav of yours", he says "I framed them"

Why aren't the Dems making advantage of the situation and getting Upton, or other rare reasonable republican, up?
