Apologies to anyone who follows me back thinking I’m interesting.
@USSJoshuaNorton @virtualbri that’s fair. It would be nice if someone could write a bot that just randomly posts one or two existing ones every day.
Hmm. Maybe I should learn how to make a Mastodon bot. How hard could it be… (famous last words)

@jordanlafordan 2!
No, 1!

Oh, you’re right, it depends on how I’m feeling.

I’ve just realised why I find 3 so jarring - it’s not just because of the massive jump in tech so everything is magic now, it’s because they’ve gone to an almost post-apocalyptic future. Star Trek was about a hopeful future, but season 3 is where the future had forgotten that, and Discovery has to bring that 23rd century optimism back. Bit of a tangent there, sorry, I’ve literally just had that revelation…

@thehill too many children are being shot in school. Should we ban guns?

Florida: no, but! We’ll ban drag queens, books [edit: +quarantining when you have the measles] and social media! Finally, the children are safe…

@alexanderhay “the chip wasn’t even that good”

Was it just me, or was there not enough Reno?
Captain Tilly. Oh. I’m sure entire episodes could be written about her. Suffice to say, given the circumstances, well done. Taking back the ship was bad-ass!
Saru! His expression when he realised he was human. Bless you Doug Jones.
Yes, ok, I’m shipping Detmer and Owo now.
Culber has really become his own character, and I love him too.
Farewell for now, Georgiou.
@theresmiling I’m also not a fan of the “programmable matter”. It’s a bit too early 2000s “we’ve got CGI, look what we can do”. Why do the nacelles need to detach? The interior of Discovery, the warp core? Didn’t feel ‘real’. I can’t really explain it better than that.
That negativity aside, I had a blast with the season. I really felt Stamets’ betrayal when Burnham ejected him. Give the poor guy a hug. Loved Adira and Book, more then I remembered
@theresmiling I liked season 3 a lot more on my rewatch. I think the tonal shift from familiar Star Trek to The Future changed how I saw it. But now I know all the characters more from previous seasons rewatches, it was easier. I don’t know if I’d call the Disco ‘retro’, but I still love the aesthetic. I’m sad they swapped their deltas for the new style and sad at the end when they get the new uniforms. [1/2]
@signaleleven @Nmyownworld she was played by Sara Mitich in Season 1, then by Hannah Cheesman in Season 2, and Mitich stuck around as Nilsson. I don’t know if there were behind the scenes reasons for this…

Seen this week:

A Russian spy, a racist, a lunatic, a failed businessman, and a rapist walk into a dive bar.

The bartender says, "You'll have to pay in advance, Mr. Trump."

@birdpoof @punkonbus1701 I worked in a (British) private medical company almost a decade ago (before this current AI fad) and there were people there confidently predicting the use of AI to sort through the thousands of images taken by MRI and PET scanners to identify possible signs of cancer so they could be prioritised by the doctors for further human analysis. I can’t help but wonder how that tech has come along since I left…
