@marcoarment Did previous versions of Overcast pause play (with CarPlay) when the car is turned off? Seems it did, and now podcasts continue on phone after car is shut off. Much preferred it when turning off car also stopped play. At that moment I have other things to attend to other than the added task of opening my phone to stop play.
Fwiw
@atpfm I thought Marco had me talked out of an EV after his last Rivian horror story, but WOW!, after this week’s after-show the damnation with faint praise has me absolutely convinced that there’s no way that I’m going anywhere NEAR an electric!
3rd Prius in a row for us next!
THANK YOU!
@atpfm @marcoarment
As entertaining as your charging story was in the after show, I have to say that you have essentially convinced me that we are only moments away from the first of many stories about “charging rage” induced shootings.
No thanks… I think my next car is going to be another hybrid. 😉
@gruber John, you know perfectly well what a blue check means to 90+% of users… Verified. They are whi they say they are. I’m far more comfortable with an agency test with consumer protection overstepping that I am with an autocratic Nazi having free rein.

Regarding the lack of photo realism in the Apple Intelligence generated images…
I think one of the things that has the public terrified of AI is the ability to make photo realistic images that are decimating our belief in the reality of everything we see. Apple is bypassing this by producing images that are clearly generated. That are what they say they are… images, not purported reality.
IMO its very smart.

I’m afraid I don’t understand the new ATP episode release schedule.
Is the public episode now released on Fridays?
It would help to know.

This is not to mention recording and notation capabilities via Pencil that leave the Mac in the dust. Try editing and pushing out changes to musicians on their music stands in real time with a Mac.
Programmers can get quite arrogant concerning their definition of “real work”.
But the last thing I need is a larded up “HomerMobile” on my music stand simply to make it acceptable to the small percentage of users who want to duplicate their Mac.

Thanks. 😉

While I agree that iPadOS could easily improve, it would sure help my blood pressure if I didn’t have to listen to commentary bemoaning the inability to do “real work” on the iPad. “pro” doesn’t sand for “programmer” and terminal and Xcode do not define “professional” use. iPad blows any Mac out of the water for performing musicians not just as a reader but as a realtime tool for annotating and scoring for large groups of musicians in real time.
@marcoarment Maybe dumb question, but does use of Airpods Pro 2 as ear protection by using Loud Sound Reduction require that they be used while paired to an iphone? Ie, the iphone is an active participant in the sound reduction? Great segment. Thanks.
@gruber The Logic Pro announcement was also timed to piss on The Google dev conf and their own tablet announcements this week.
