@mstdn Is it normal that whenever I use the search for a certain term, any term, and click on "posts" the search result is empty ?

@bengrosser And also, most major platform was initially thought of by geeks, who "mastered" technology, not by great visionaries. Just like the first people making photos were not great photographers, but folks who experimented with tech or had the means to buy tech. It's more than time in my opinion that a decentralized - perhaps overseen or conceived by a commission of professionals in information - platform emerges. Not led by geeks, but by visionaries.
Ben Grosserwe need to stop thinking about online social as something that just needs a tweak. instead we need to be trying/experimenting with radical alternatives, platforms that almost don't qualify as social media within current conceptions of the sector, sites and apps that a16z, etc would never back because they know there's no chance they'll lead to the hypergrowth they seek

@acosta Also, please (you and colleagues of other medias) put some pressure on web departments of your parent companies so they add a mastodon icon in their social links, ASAP.
