@batkaren Fake it till you make it!
@ElHadjiMurad Oh no, that's long gone. I would have discarded it around 1972 when I finally surrendered to the world of work.
It would have made maybe 6 or 8 mats I guess. 🫤
@ElHadjiMurad In my student days I had a brown cord jacket which I wore pretty much continuously for three years. So yes, I want the mouse mat.
@SvenGeier Interesting. Google Gemini doesn't make this mistake.
Perhaps it's reading bigger as longer/wider.
@montaigne This guy was amazing. Here it's looking like he was endorsing a photon theory of light 400 years before Einstein did.
Weird sky effect tonight. (Viewed from Urmston, Manchester)
My current pet hate: people who say something they reckon is profound, and then add "Let that sink in!"
This is so condescending; they assume you can't assess the merit of what they've just said without them giving you a specific prompt to do so, and extra time to do it in.

I came across this unusual upside down T-shaped keyhole on the door of a Victorian townhouse in Glasgow today. It's for an Odell Night Latch Key, of the type shown on the right. Patented in 1792, they came in a wide variety of different shapes and you put them through the cross bar of the T and then lifted them up. They'd only open the latch if their shape fitted the inverse shape of the mechanism in the lock itself, which sat on the other side of the door.

"The lady at the charity shop today told me she wishes ppl wd clear out their kids' old toys in the lead up to Xmas rather than after because she always sees parents in the days before Xmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's rarely anything in before, but they get many toys after.
If you know your child is going to get lots of presents for Xmas this year, by clearing out early you could make another child's Xmas a lot more special."
