How do I find the BEST ways to resist facism? - Lemmy.World

I’m ready for WWII French resistance tactics. I’ve got very little to lose. Where should I start looking for similar minded people and ideas?

Any ideas what these are?

These are spaced about every 300 meters next to the trail in Memorial Park in Houston, TX, but they aren’t only along the trail. They are throughout the park. Does anyone have an idea what they might be? Thanks!

The Spring and the Plum - Lemmy.World

I’ve spent most of my free time in the last day attempting to track down more information about the stained glass I shared yesterday. There isn’t very much out there other than sites trying to sell reproductions in all sorts of forms, but it seems that the work is a collaboration between Mucha and the Mauméjean brothers, who were a family of stained glass makers in Spain. The stained glass seems to be referred to as “The Spring and the Plum,” while Mucha’s work it is based upon is called “Primrose and Feather.” So glad so many enjoyed my previous post, and I hope you enjoy this one too!

I mean, Fred Kelly was going to be a character named Bunny.

Yes, line from song but if any one actually has takes on Cassavetes, I am very interested to hear your take.
Cassavetes? - Lemmy.World

Misogynist? Genius?

He was definitely an alcoholic, maybe a messiah of art outside of the even-more-predominant-today “industry.” Definitely a misogynist, not sure about genius. Probs.

Not a huge fan, but I think his Columbo episode “Etude in Black” is genius. His genius? Not sure.

I’d love to hear others’ thoughts about this auteur.

Edit: clarified my take on Cassavetes 😊

Alcoholic? Messiah?

I am not a super fan, and think he’s both. As well as a misogynist. His Columbo episode, Etude in Black, is really good and is a gateway to understanding his movies.
