When I transitioned, back in 1992, we were warned away from spending time in public with other trans people, because more than one of you together would increase the chances your stealth would be blown. And stealth was a required factor.

So I learned to stay away from trans people. So did my peers - that's part of why you don't see many of us. We all went stealth, and most of us stayed there.

Now I enjoy having other trans people around. It's nice to have a community.

An Allegory for the mental shift between form and function of the birthing body-as a new mum my relationship with my body continues to re-evaluate - how do I articulate how my body is now so mechanical in nature and upkeep despite its organic forms?

Likewise this piece is transformative for my model who hasn't posed nude before and is likewise forming a new connection to her body as object for investigation and scrutiny?
