I think radicals are going to look back at a lot of ideas that have embraced or tried. Including very good ideas. And toss them all out as bad.
Expect to see the sad, angry radical to come back...and be permanently instutionalized. Complete purge of Foucault and D+G.
Expect even anarchists to laugh at the idea of killing the cop in their head. "Cops on the beat, or cops in your head. Pick one"
Both transformative and restorative justice will at best be seen as pretty ideas, but just not serious. "Justice" as a concept becomes forever defined in terms of punishment and incarceration.
I fully expect shame and guilt to be seen as appropriate feelings about sex even in queer circles. It is not that sex will be treated as immoral. It will be treated as dangerous and traumatizing. And hence to forever be avoided for as long as possible. And never to be discussed or thought about except in shame. I think puritanical attitudes are irreversible. Those of us who don't live by them, should stop trying to fight it. People seemed determined to never let go of it...and it's time we stopped trying to liberate people who frankly don't want to be. They love their cage, their chains, their shame.
I fully expect even the center left to embrace nationalism and jingoism.
It's only going to get worse from here.
