Nuts!
The manual mill @FabLabMuc needed some more T-Nuts so I thought making some on the mill would be a nice exercise

I didn’t cut them to perfect an uniform length at the end because once they are an their assembly they won’t be visible anymore

SEM and Blahaj @FabLabMuc
@Matrix11 Very nice, thank you!
Finally some order for our metalworking shop at @FabLabMuc

Das Ende der Weihnachtsfeier verspätet sich um etwa 99999 Minuten. Wir entschuldigen uns für die Unannehmlichkeiten.

@cccpresser Damn, so close!
I can't find a schematic for it, but the block diagram suggests that a DC offset might just be possible on the output. Since everything is AC coupled there's nothing (apart from the input protection?) referencing it to ground. The topology is kind of weird, more TIA than CSA, so an input offset could come from leakage somewhere in the input / feedback path.
@cccpresser Detector preamplifier! SHV on the right is the detector connector, SHV on the left is bias input (followed by a lot of filtering), the wire is the power supply, followed by 3x BNC which are timing & energy out, the bottom one is test input, made evident by the small capacitor to inject charge. By the brown paint I'd guess it's made by Ortec. Guessing by the connector arrangement: 142AH?
There are a lot of warnings for CF / GF loaded 3D printing filaments, so I wanted to see what's going on.
I printed a piece of Prusament PP-CF and it felt like a Kiwi fruit! The @FabLabMuc SEM Pics explain why: There are tons of exposed Carbon Fibers on the surface! It's pretty rough overall, doesn't look like any other 3D print I've seen before.
I'm surprised how many of these fibers just stick out, like they're not embedded in the plastic at all!
The last pic is of a broken edge.
Saw one of these guys at @FabLabMuc the other day. There's a "board" with lots of drums and bells and stuff mounted and that "board" has a MIDI interface. There's an MPC driving it all and some hacked foot switches to control the MPC. It's a "band in a box" in a way. A large box, admittedly. Good times! 😄 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgxQzq0nNOw https://loopinlab.com/
