You can pretend there’s no such things as nationality and maybe at some point in history that was the case but that’s no longer the reality. By far most people want to live in people with a shared ideology and a shared vision of the society they want to live in. If you want to belong somewhere you have to adjust to local norms and culture.
That’s fine and good but my point is if you’re immigrating somewhere and if you want the locals to accept you as one of theirs, that’s your new homeland. If you feel like the local people don’t treat you the same way they do other locals, but at the same time you say your real homeland is somewhere else, well you can’t have it both ways.
