"all you need is love
but all you get is afraid"
- robyn hitchcock
sometimes as a late 50's gen-x-er i feel a kind of parental twang of responsibility for the younger people on social media. i have to watch what i say to protect them, says the parent in me. but usually i just assume everyone out here to be fellow adults, and try to show them the same respect & regard i would ask for from my peers. the person i feel like i can relate to the most in the world is my kid, and i treat her like the adult she is. i can tell her anything except a lie.
i am too busy posting bad film studies takes and ignorant opinions about vegan cooking on bluesky to tend to things here
somebody on tv said "doo-wopoly" and i was like "huh. like, the system of government consists of three branches: the ink spots, the 5 satins, & frankie lymon & the teenagers"
imagine how far along our civilization would be technologically, if not for the limiting factors of extractive colonialist capitalism. imagine what we could have been by now if not for white supremacy and other systems of control
if i hear once again "there is a far right and a far left which are both equally unreasonable but i am the wholly rational exact center between them" i am going to do some extremism
never believed it was possible but i just now ruined a pan of scrambled eggs. what's next, burning water?
