This is why I go out of my way to avoid ever being infected.
Wear an N95 or better (mine is P100) in all indoor public spaces and outdoor crowds. Don't take off to eat. COVID lingers in air, can infect you within seconds.
Long COVID is blood clots all throughout the body, brain damage, heart damage, immune system destruction, and a plethora of other effects.

Mastodon feels right because I forgot social media was never about following a leader, celebrity, or brand - though it was useful and heartening when those acted like humans. Instead it was about friends, interaction, knowledge, humor, connection. It was about the meshy World Wide Web and being a node on it connected to other nodes. All else is commerce, which can be done respectfully and well (with work), but that’s not why our souls gravitate to this experience.
