I've tried to move my account from here to scholar.social's - in the hope that the "local" stream will be more relevant to me. However, its alias tool just has an error message - are they all having that error now as everyone tried to join, move etc?

Well ... I've managed to remember my login details & I see that @timbocop & @suebecks have found me in the last couple of days.

Mastodon is a good name, though it does make me think of one of the Arthur Ransome books (Secret Water, for those who're fans - but you'd know that anyway!)

Another new tool to try ... who else is on here?
