My first fourteener!
Drove up to the summit of Pikes Peak. It was 10 degrees, felt like -18. It was hard to breathe. Altitude sickness is no joke. At 14,000 feet, you get only 60% of the oxygen you get at sea level. But aside from that, it was fucking gorgeous being that high and literally above the clouds.
Who the heck says yes to climbing 2,768 steps in 22 degrees weather at 6 o'clock in the morning, gaining 2,000 feet of elevation in less than one mile?
Apparently me. And it was absolutely glorious.
This photo looks fake but it's not. I took it yesterday while on a hike in Colorado Springs. It's ridiculously gorgeous here.
Anyway, that sucks about Twitter. I had a beautiful community that I really loved there.
