New comic: "線場のひと" (On Their Frontlines) vol. 2.
Story of the Japanese women and their American husbands in 1940s and 50s.
The previous volume described their relationship under the Occupation by US Military in Japan just after WWII.
In this volume, the long story of their lives in the US is unfolded, where they encounter racial and nationality discrimination, they meet other Japanese-Americans who had experienced the relocation camp during the war, their child suffers from his own identity between Japanese and American origins, and they see the new generation of the movements for LGBT, etc.
The author Marina Kisa Komiya is a queer artist and has been tackling the problems of biopolitics (together with gender, war, and racism issues) in various ways.

㊗️お知らせ㊗️ 『線場のひと』下巻が4/21日に発売されます🎉帯は横槍メンゴさん、吉田恵里香さんという超豪華なおふたりに素晴らしいコメントを寄せて頂きました。 上巻は日本が舞台なので日本の漫画と同じ右びらきなのですが、下巻はアメリカが舞台になるので左びらきの仕様になっている&ページ数も同じで双子のような本になりました。 なんとか4人の物語を描き終えられてホッとしています。書き終えて改めて、この物語は抵抗の物語だったのだと感じました。過去に生きたクィアな人々や国家や制度の狭間に生きた人々を描くことで、家父長制へのささやかな抵抗となりますように。 是非お手に取っていただけると嬉しいです。
