In the meantime, put all your files in a folder, compress it to a zip file, then delete the original file. Any time you want to view your stuff, you’ll have to unzip it, then delete the folder afterwards. That seems to remove all trace from your recents.

I do not have a gaming laptop though, and if Steam Deck has taught me anything, it’s that a Machine from Steam will have unnaturally long relevance and pretty cool support from Linux enthusiasts.

Said this in the privacy forum as well, but I’m honestly flabbergasted that there’s no way to remove items from the “recents” tab of the files app without outright deleting them from your phone entirely. And the “recents” tab in the preview app shamelessly displays files previewed from apps and directories marked as hidden.

I want them all, but I don’t know which order to get them in. I have a PS5+VR2, a Quest 3, and a Steam Deck, so I’m thinking Steam Machine first, since it has a controller, I can stop buying newer games from PlayStation, and I might be able to use my PSVR2 with a PC adapter. Then get a Frame later on after we get an idea of how “spatial computing” develops on Linux, and maybe a pass-through getup becomes available for it.

But holy hell would I be happy to rid myself of Meta as soon as humanly possible.

There’s no reaching. A car is a vehicle, but not all vehicles are cars. When someone says 2026, it is a year. There is zero implication of one half or the other. I think the omission of indicating the first half could be a slip up, but is worth noting.

I bring up promise because people tend to freak out when things get delayed, as if it were a promise. I mean to imply that we should expect a delay, and be pleasantly surprised if it launches any earlier.
