so, now that the dust has settled, a clearer picture has emerged about what really happened.
no matter what angle you look at it, monads is in the wrong here, with snouts having no wrong-doing in this.
and yet, for whatever reason, snouts is not only being vilified, but people on snouts have been straight up leaving, as if now is the time to finally leave.
lemme break it down: snouts had a controversy recently before this, i already forgot what it is but the mods were fucking around. to my knowledge that's been solved by now.
that would've been the perfect time to make a move to leave, like "hey this shit's getting wild, cya'll". but i didn't see anyone i follow on snouts leave.
but this controversy, where snouts wasn't in the wrong, and was in fact vilified for actions they did not actually do, that's the moment everyone on snouts was like "snouts bad, i'm leaving fediverse forever, there's no hope, etc etc"
now i'm not gonna sit here and try and change y'alls mind, but like...why is it now that you decide to leave? why is it this situation, and not any other situation or especially the other recent situation that made y'all wanna leave?
if you're just tired of all the drama, i can understand that...but then like...some of y'all are returning to fuckin twitter of all places? y'know, the hellscape that never ends with how horrendous the human condition is?
you want to return to fuckin twitter after leaving fediverse? good luck avoiding drama there, buddy. might as well say you're returning to tumblr while you're at it.
to be extra clear, i'm not here to change anyone's mind, or to exactly say "yea fuck u for leavin this place >:(", it's just to me the logic makes 0 sense. ESPECIALLY with people who decide that twitter is the place to go after leaving fediverse.
