Well THAT was a weird dream I woke up to.

Started off with the Persona 4 cast renovating a dilapidated house to use as their home base. Elsewhere in town, members of the King of Fighters cast are investigating explosions at the edge of town, leading them to a large mansion in the woods. They get shot by an undead with a Cajun accent and die. Time skip to said KOF cast members becoming undead themselves. But not as zombies, but as fantasy creatures, like dying just got rid of their humanity.

Back to the P4 cast. Main character refuses to investigate something in the TV world and becomes the villain for some reason.

The takeaway? I like the idea that fantasy creatures are originally humans who died and literally lost their humanity. Perhaps reforming into said creatures doesn't mean their undead and rotting, and that the creature they turn into is based on the type of person they were when they were a human. Kind of like a sort of reincarnation where you get isekai'd into an appropriate fantasy creature, but in the same world as when you were a human.
