Bettina holds the Chair for Internet and Society at TU Berlin. She is also a director of the JWI Berlin, for the Networked Society in Berlin and a guest professor at KU Leuven. Her research includes Data Science and Critical Data Science, especially with respect to Privacy/Data Protection, discrimination and fairness, as well as AI and ethics, with a focus on textual and web-related data.

He is a member of the Executive Committee of the ACM Fairness, Accountability and Transparency Conference. Leading the Machine Intelligence and Normative Theory Lab (MINT), he directs research projects on the moral and political philosophy of AI, funded by the ARC, the Templeton World Charity Foundation, the IAG, and Schmidt Futures.
He is Professor of Philosophy at The Australian National University, an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow, and a Distinguished Research Fellow of the University of Oxford.

She obtained her PhD and MSc from the University Carlos III ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ, and worked as postdoctoral researcher at the MPI for Software Systems ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช and at the University of Cambridge ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง.
Prior to this, she was an independent group leader at the MPI for Intelligent Systems. She held a German Humboldt Post-Doctoral Fellowship, and a โ€œMinerva fast trackโ€ fellowship from the Max Planck Society.
She is a fellow of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems, where she is part of the Robust Machine Learning Program and of the Saarbrรผcken Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning (Sam) Unit.
