Some sad news:
This instance will cease operations on November 18. The costs are increasing and in my current situation I can’t really justify carrying the costs.
I wanna give y’all a fair chance to find another instance. This is why I will keep it running for 3 more months.
There are some great instances out there, two of them (which I think are worthy replacements for this place) are https://writing.exchange/about and https://bbq.snoot.com/about, and I’m sure there are others as well.
If #Spacex was serious about its alleged Mars Colonization goals, they would already have self sustaining prototype colonies.
These colonies would need:
Closed system oxygen cycling and air purification
Lightweight but strong and temperature stable shelter
100% renewable power generation from solar or kinetic sources
100% water/moisture recapture and réclamation
Hydro/Aquaponic food growth to support residents
You know, the tech we would need to save the planet. And that doesn’t explode.
Testing Mastadon for something I did like about Twitter—finding people! This: I’m looking for someone to make a slick social media-friendly ad using some video I have. I could look on Fiverr but would love to work with a local person I can potentially get to know a bit. I don’t have a ton of money but I don’t think this is a heavy lift.
