I love me some avocado toast, but unfortunately in the Midwest I usually see them for about $2-2.50 ea for a decent sized one. I’ve had a hard time with the ones from Aldi that are cheaper. They tend to be tiny and the window between unripe and rotten seems to overlap.

When them bitches go on sale for $1 ea? I’ll eat it every day for a week lol.

Correct - my best ELI5.

When you wake up your body starts producing adenosine, which slowly locks into receptors in your brain. As the day goes on, these receptors fill. By the end of the day your receptors are full which tells you you’re tired and need to go to sleep. When you sleep, these receptors clear to start the next day fresh (which is one of the reasons if you don’t sleep well, they don’t all clear and you start the day tired.)

Caffeine fits these receptor sites, preventing the adenosine from locking in and delaying the onset of fatigue. Caffeine half life is about 5-6 hours, which can lead to the “crash” as the free adenosine starts locking into the receptors the caffeine is now making available as it breaks down.

When caffeine is consumed regularly and the brain isn’t detecting the expected adenosine feedback, it responds by creating more receptors. More caffeine is now needed to account for the new receptors. If you skip caffeine with the addition of receptors, the adenosine fills the extra receptors faster and leaves you comparitively more fatigued/with withdrawal symptoms. If you reduce/abstain from caffeine for a few days the extra receptors are reduced and you return to baseline.

Dark, warm, moist, friction - perfect formula for growing something on irritated skin .

The only time I generally don’t apply it to these areas is if I’m planning on sharing these areas with someone else later that day 😉 lol .

I have a dedicated 72hr antiperspirant stick that I use for my underboobs and the crease at my groin area that I apply after every shower. Summer and workouts are so much more comfortable without the skin irritation, and the conditioning/protective barrier helps prevent friction.
As a massage therapist on any given work day, I probably wash my hands 20+ times a day. I do apply lotion regularly but it’s so hard to keep up. Miss a day? In the winter?!? Definitely cracked skin around my knuckles. At best I still have to watch the types of fabric I wear. That feeling of fabric snagging on tiny invisible imperfections on my skin 😣.
You don’t? Commit to intense yoga and stretching and one day you might get there. I have faith in you.
You know what, you sold me.

They need to be.

On one hand I’m fully against plastering shit all over the place for someone making minimum wage to be stuck cleaning that garbage off the pumps, but on the other hand in some moments I crave the pettiness.

Remember, the higher quality plastic coated stickers peel off intact. It’s the cheap shit that continues to tear and it’s hard to get off.

To expand on “it’s only an issue when it happens to them”, having been raised in a very conservative environment I was told that bad things happened to bad people, and that if something happened to a “good” person, there was probably something we just didn’t know about. That thinking offers a false sense of security because as long as you’re not a bad person, bad things can’t happen to you.

It usually takes something bad actually happening to you to break the illusion and get someone to actually start questioning their world, which is hard work. Life is so much easier to live with your head in the sand.

It even started in the late 60’s early 70’s, originally referred to at “Chinese restaurant syndrome.” Rooted in anti Asian racism, supposedly we were slowly being poisoned… by tasty tasty Asian food with added msg.
