I had been hoping to post lovely pictures of
#Antarctica. However, following a rogue wave we are headed home. Yes. One of those cabins was mine. It was a nightmare. Thankful to be alive and thankful to the Viking crew.
More later.
Unfortunately weather is not cooperating in
#Antarctica. I had hoped to go ashore at Danco Island to see the gentoo
#penguin colony. Rough seas though. We are cruising in a sheltered bay. I snapped this in one lull in the snowstorms.
Our first glimpse of
#Antartica. Brabant Island. We are heading on to Anvers Island and Fournier Bay where we hope to find
#HumpbackWhales feeding. Weather is much improved so I hope to be able to do some sea kayaking.
Headed across Drakes Passage on the way to
#Antarctica. Pretty rough seas but the ship is nice and stable.
Overnight in
#BuenosAires on the way to
#Antarctica. Cafe Tortoni is a must do! Paris cafe meets
#Argentina.
Pinkie doing what she does best! Posing!
She was a sad mess when we first had her as a temporary foster. Matted fur, messy backside, huge long claws which she used. Bit anyone who tried to hold her. After a medi-spa with a sedative she was sheared, groomed, clipped, vaccinated, identified (she was microchipped but not by her last owner). It’s taken 3 months of patience and she now loves a bit of affection but not too much.
We transferred ownership to us. Home for life!
All packed for
#Antarctica. We cannot wait. Not quite enough room to pack Pinkie. I stress - I did not choose that name! She is another rescue. She’d blend in quite well in the snow.
