I don’t get how we are in the year 2025, most advanced technology we have ever had in human existence… And everything is behind a paywall. Literally everything. Whenever I search the web for a solution as an individual person, not a business or Mega Corporation, just a simple person trying to do a few creative things… Everything is behind a paywall For example, I want to create a logo image for a personal Tableau dashboard that has a transparent background. Just a struggling person trying to find work and show what I’m capable of making. You know what I find? Everything is behind a payroll. One of the first results on Google that can actually help you is canva! But everything on canva is behind a paywall! You want to resize your document? Transparent background? Paywall. Okay then what if I go to a website to remove the background? There’s lots of them on the Internet that say they are free. Sorry, those are all behind paywalls as well. You have to upload your image to them and then by credits but they don’t tell you that when you get to the website… Also, editing PDF files… Year 2025, you cannot possibly edit a PDF file for free, and most of the PDF readers out there or PDF viewers have some sort of clickbait this is free! Except that is not free, it’s behind a paywall and you’ll find that out eventually… I think we are all very excited to see what AI can finally do for Humanity because I am so damn sick of everything being

Walmart near me has started using receipt checkers lately and they don’t even really do their job, it’s kind of a gimmick really. They just look at the receipt for a second Don’t even look at your cart, but they stop you every time. It’s just such a waste of my time when I’m in a hurry. I had one person even tell me that it was required by law. No it’s not! There’s no law in the USA that says they have to check your receipt.

So I placed an order on the Taco Bell website because I didn’t want to download the mobile app again, just way more convenient. I hit reorder on a previous order that I had with a bunch of customizations because I am allergic to cheese, I cannot have cheese… So I get to the restaurant and they added cheese to everything and I asked them what was going on and talked with the manager. The manager refused to make it. They said if it was an error on their end, they might remake this stuff. But they showed me the order that they got. Then I showed them What I was doing on the website. The error was clearly with Taco Bell. I hit the reorder button it took all the customizations off of everything and didn’t even warn me at all… So I tried it again with the mobile application. Not the website but the mobile app, when I hit reorder on a past order, it has all my customizations on it right there. So in other words, Taco Bell is basically scamming you if you go to the website itself. If you hit reorder it will take all of your customizations off, you will be really disappointed, and they won’t give you a refund at all. The only way I was able to get a refund was by calling the actual customer support phone number, and threatening them with legal action. I threatened to sue them in small claims court because there is no way in hell this makes any sense. They’re development team really messed up on the mobile app versus website, the mobile app works exactly like it should, when you hit reorder it has all your customizations… Just want everyone to be aware of this scam that they are running

I’m sick of being laidoff. Got laid off again today, second time in 4 years in a big corporate layoff. Seems I can’t ever find any respite these days. No matter how hard I work or how much I put in, just bound to be laid off and even though I’ve been recognized officially through merit repeatedly, these companies here in the USA just keep laying people off And then passing all the jobs on to India for 3K a year salary… So disheartening. At this rate I might as well just retire from White collar work and go and learn a trade as a tradesman, completely redo my entire life goals

So the Federal Communications Commission, FCC, announced it’s investigating Comcast for having a diversity program. And this white guy I work with went on a long rant about how promoting minorities in the workplace amounts to discrimination against white people. Can’t even believe people like this are employed at Comcast. Tempted to report him to HR 😂

Just lost my job and it’s so depressing seeing stuff like this every single day. 400+ applications and you don’t even get a call anymore. Nothing from recruiters. When you do get an offer, its 20% lower pay than ever before, while cost of living goes up. So you have to engage in borderline indentured servitude just to eat and pay rent.

I was a subscriber to Claude for about a year for various purposes and uses, but the model has degraded, the thing is utter trash now. Their free plan used to be just good enough for basic low-level questions and easy stuff, like writing a resume… now, they’re always throttled. “Due to high demand” This literally shows all day, every single day of the year. It’s lame.

EA has done it again. They just released Sims 1 and 2 Legacy Collection on Steam, and it’s nothing but a Shameless IP flip. Many players who are really passionate about old games have played Sims 1 and 2 and even Sims 3 on PC on Windows 11, even up to this day. It’s a little bit more challenging because they are all on discs and you have to install them and use compatibility settings and all that stuff. But at least they run. The Legacy Collection that they released on Steam Just a Week Ago, it doesn’t work. It doesn’t launch, crashes constantly, there is no user interface scaling so on Modern computers, nothing gets any larger. I have an ultrawide 34401440 monitor and it is absolutely microscopic… So you have to ask yourself, why would they release this game again, if they didn’t do anything to it? They literally didn’t develop anything. They didn’t make it work on Windows 11, they didn’t up the interface, they didn’t provide new graphics. So what is it? It’s a Shameless asset flip. EA flexing their intellectual property in hopes that passionate fans will bite and purchase a game that doesn’t work Sad these scams are legal
