It's Black History Month—or as the GOP call it—“Charge Teachers & Librarians with Felonies for Teaching Accurate American History Month.”
That said, I hope everyone (esp my white friends) uses this month as an opportunity to further educate yourself on Black history. To quote Dr. King: "Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."

I grew up in an observant (devout?) Muslim household. When I questioned my faith, my folks didn't ban books. They encouraged me to read books by Muslims AND non-Muslims—Christian, Jewish, atheist, or other. It was life changing. And it's a message I'm passing on to my children now, and one I hope they pass to their children when the time comes.
Parents: Trust your kids. Ban ignorance—not books.

OTD in 1917 all Mexican, Asian, & African immigration was banned via Asiatic Barred Zone Act—with practically open borders for Northern & Western Europe immigrants. This law was on the books for nearly 4 decades and even after its repeal BIPOC immigrants have faced far greater scrutiny than white immigrants.
So when MAGAs scream to “come here legally,” remind them their ancestors likely got here via white supremacy in immigration policy, and to rectify that first before pointing the finger.
