A long time amateur techy, I learned programming on an Apple ][+. My especial interest is smart home technology such voice assistants & remote controlled lights/locks and how they can be leveraged to help people with mobility and fine motor skills issues. I'm a semi-retired surgeon who now volunteers with San Diego County public health to help with the COVID & MPox situation.

Can someone just shoot me pleeze!!!!! I spend the last hour plus on a conference zoom meeting about building a new database for the project I’m working on only to finally realize that:
1) None of them understand what a fully relational database is and why we need one
2) that 100% of the data will be stored in a single table
3) the data migration plan is to export to excel and then import into the new database
There isn’t a wall strong enough for me to bash my head into over this.
Another week of helping prevent COVID so I took a break and put this together
