A gentle reminder: as recently as 15 years ago, Elsevier, everyone's least favorite and most predatory academic publisher, was also a LITERAL ARMS DEALER.

Buying a sofa is difficult - every company I look at either gets bad reviews for service, or for quality of build (or both). Warning stories and recommendations appreciated!

Birb update: went out earlier and returned to find one of the suet shells on the floor. D hung it back up on the branch. Later he observed a team of crows work on pecking through the thick string it was hung from, so that they could have a go at it on the ground. Apparently there was a bit of fighting over it, but they certainly knew what they were doing!

Crows are ace.

We are in our new home! 🥰 The last owners fed the birds, and we want to do the same, but short on supplies. Yesterday I grabbed some suet shells for want of anything more suitable, to hang until we get more stuff. D hung one up today. As soon as he left view of the garden we got about 15 birds rush to the tree. 10 long tailed tits, a robin, and a few sparrows. They were very disappointed :( but the clever robin figured out a way to get to it. Soon, birbs. Soon 💜

So, people. Got it.

Now do corporations like Nestle, Exxon, Shell, etc. Individual impact should matter to everyone, but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to corporations. https://www.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2017/jul/10/100-fossil-fuel-companies-investors-responsible-71-global-emissions-cdp-study-climate-change
