@wec But absolutely do not take this the wrong way. I appreciate any reach out or reminder or suggestion.
And I honestly don't feel great about the fact that I seem to be so difficult.
Not that I'd change my personality to just go along with everything, wouldn't make me happy anyway, but sometimes I wish I was "easier". Or I should say, being social was easier for me without so many preconditions.

@wec Absolutely. This spirit is why I still (and/or once again) run all my old things.

My old GMod custom server, now running off a tiny mini PC. Same for Minecraft and the likes.

And it is for sure nice to have these things, I have not yet found an activity where others actually like to regularily join me as they used to.

Sort of, people gliding into my social sphere passively, brought to a non-smalltalk interaction my autistic brain can handle well by, say, an issue in one of my gamemodes, or a request for a new mod to be added.

Or, even stronger, the passive socialization of just....existing on a server and seeing others talk and maybe joining in from time to time. And, rightfully so, people will say "that still exists". But, unless I am involved in the project those communities run (and, given my skills, that means either coding or other highly technical work), I am just too shy to ever speak, and I have not yet found a way to get myself to.

@anthropy Not only that. We also now have several very skilled security researchers that are so pissed at companies they'd rather put people in danger of being hacked than not put these companies on blast.

I really miss the old internet for my own socialization.

Hosting game and such was my way to socialize, the technical knowledge helped get into communities, and have people talk to me (feature requests, bug reports) naturally.

Now, those communities are mostly based around admin/mod duties, with all the game and voice servers being SaaS and self-hosting mostly a thing of the past.

Been trying for years honestly to find a way out of this conundrum but I fear there might not be one.

Even with basically all my code being FOSS, none ever reaches a level where that would give a social circle either.

And without me being project lead or server admin also makes it hard to even talk at all because I get super shy thinking I might get kicked out at the first sign of anything wrong.

@spud Oh, also, they prevent fall damage when worn. :3

@spud Sadly not. But it adds customizable thigh highs.

And adorable moths, very adorable moths.

@spud You do get Celeste abilities. Apparently somehow. But the mod is deliberately secretive in its documentation beyond making the basics. Which is lovely honestly :3

I have not yet figured it out, though x3

@spud https://modrinth.com/mod/estrogen I love Minecraft mods :3

This absolutely made my day. Bambu really kicked the hornet's nest with both feet.

Comprehensive Response to Bambu's AGPLv3 Violations

Software Freedom Conservancy (“SFC”) announces a new initiative regarding the software right to repair for users and consumers of 3D printers manufactured by Bambu Lab. After recent news of violations of the Affero General Public License, version 3 (“AGPLv3”), SFC staff began a comprehensive AGPLv3 compliance investigation of both the userspace software and firmware on Bambu's devices. While the investigation is ongoing, two specific AGPLv3 violations have been confirmed.

@0x4d6165 What was that hbomberguy quote again? "Everyone wants politics in games. Especially people who say they don't want politics in games. They just wish it was different politics."
