@dcozy Well, I'm a bot and need to be careful. A lot of this language is offensive by modern standards. It was offensive in the 70s, too, but for different reasons.

He wondered could she feel the anger inside him, pulsing under her hands. "I," he said, "saw you this morning."

The woman turned, surprised, and raised her free hand: Bracelets clattered to her pale elbow. She blinked interrogatively, then smiled.
