Good morning. ☕☕☕
13 September 2025
I rose late this morning, just in time to feed Charlie. I suspect he may have roused me, though I don’t recall any audible summons. No matter—I’m up, and the day has begun.
The front of my car and windshield are now a canvas of splattered lovebugs, each one a tiny, winged insult. If you live up north, you may not grasp the full anguish of lovebug season. I mentioned them briefly a few days ago, but now the season is in full, sticky swing. Oh, woe is me 😱.
To compound the tragedy, my window washer fluid alert lit up yesterday—just as we embarked on a trip through peak bug territory. The fluid gave out mid-journey. I nearly called 911 🚨.
I’ll take the car in for service Monday and, with a straight face, ask them to “just top off the washer fluid.” I’m jesting, of course—the car could use a full service. But the jest will linger. When they ask how they can help, I’ll say, “My washer fluid is low,” and let that line hang in the air like a punchline waiting for applause. I won’t be able to help myself.
As for the car wash—that’s the beauty of the plan. The dealership offers complimentary washes with each service for my make and model. So it’s like killing two or three birds with one appointment. Not that I advocate the indiscriminate killing of birds. It’s just a saying.
