Reminds me of my favorite passion project “dwatf fortress” where every update has to make nice with the many other systems. My favorite was allowing dwarfs to spill alchohol which made your cats raging alchoholics due to them getting soaked and “cleaning” their fur. Entire multi decade fortresses got lost to this.

By enjoying the little things in life. Sometimes it is enough to get a great coffee blend from Guatemala even though you are overpaying. As the great Danny Pudi once said “coffee is a luxury i could not do without” . We have more spices and fruits available than any of our distant ancestors. Life ain’t fucking fair and believe you and me. I know it, still enjoy the little things for they are fleeting. I downloaded the elden ring easy mod. This allowed me to enjoy a souls game for the first time while still teaching me the value of dodging and timing the attacks. Yeah, it was easier, but that is what i needed. About 6 months after this initial experience, the dlc came out. I bought it and played the game on normal. Now, whilst it was still frustrating, I at least knew the basics and got quite far before real life decided to hard mode me. Easy mode is nice to learn the game, that is why roguelites start at ascension 0.
