Today’s trip starts with the IC Berlin Ostbahnhof - Amersfoort, hauled today by a NS Vectron (leased from ELL). The locomotive change at Bad Bentheim is hence a thing of the past

I’ve taken the line through Bad Bentheim before, but not since I’ve been running #CrossBorderRail - so Bad Bentheim 🇩🇪 - Hengelo 🇳🇱 will be border 200 of the project 🎉

OK, mixed news today

Plans for the week messed up by the rail strike, but it happens

But the good news is crowd funding for #CrossBorderRail South East Europe May-June can start this week 💪

And tomorrow I am going to cycle paradise Netherlands, and Wednesday have a load of interesting meetings about rail and cycle advocacy. So I can live with the consequences of the strike :-)

Public transport journey planning has a public purpose - get people efficiently to their destination.

This planning function *might* not have financial compensation - there might be no ticket sale involved.

The likes of Trainline then have very little incentive as I see it to provide excellent journey planning. But if they can’t, and the likes of DB won’t, internationally… then who can?
