I'm not saying this to get people to follow me out of here. I harbor no ill will of anybody that stays, what-so-ever.

I do wish you guys the best of luck. I don't think you're necessarily 'bad people'. I think you've just made some cowardly decisions that make people unsafe.

I hope someday this place might become what it once was.

It's not an enviable position to be in, especially when personal high school clique nonsense can let them punish your entire instance. I get that. I get also that you're going to take a long time to respond because you have lives.

But when another instance can harass your own users (and even other admin!) off your platform and follow them to other webpages to harass them there and your reaction is to apologize to them then the situation re: good faith reports becomes untenable

I will say this though. Comparing Zionism to Nazism is a bad and antisemitic take.

And being like "Context matters in screen shot dunking!" is a cowardly way to avoid the fact that an admin of an instance took a report and snitch tooted it to make the person who reported it less safe.

Our own admins apologizing *to that admin* for a negative reaction to that, means that your users are unsafe under you as long as another admin has a big enough user base to intimidate you.

So, in light of recent developments, I'm out of here. I wasn't here much anyways.

I haven't moved to another instance on Mastodon, and I might not. If I do someday, I'll make a redirect to this.

You can catch me on Twitter, with the same name as I have here.

If you want me on Discord, my DMs on Twitter are open, just ask. I don't like posting that publicly. Sorry.

If we don't meet again, then it's been fun, hope you stay safe.

hello fellow white people. it's easy to post "fuck the police" and say "i would never call the police" and listen to millions of dead cops and think 1312 thoughts but! have you considered what you would do INSTEAD of calling the fash? no? how about a lil homework:

Sorry for hecking up the entire timeline here.
"What if we told the police not to use a chokehold they're already not allowed to us? What if instead we change up where on the body we shoot black people? *What if we gave them more money*? What if we vote for Cuomo and de Blasio?"
Eric Garner was murdered in arguably the Bluest State, in the biggest city in America, under a Democratic Governor with a Democratic Mayor, by a chokehold that was already illegal for years, and his killer was only fired 5 years later, and their response is...
It, and Biden's "Let's have police shoot unarmed black people in the leg instead of the heart" like a perfect small scale model for the general complacency, cowardice and collaboration with oppressors that the Democratic Party and it's core supporters as a whole stands for.
