Possible workaround for Fairphone 6 brightness issue - Lemmy.World

So I’m loving the FP6 so far but it has an annoying bug where the adaptive brightness is set too low for certain low light conditions. The settings say you can set your brightness manually and it will remember your preferences but so far this doesn’t work for me. I keep having to set it manually but it slowly ticks down to to being too dim again in a few minutes or when I turn the screen back on if it’s been off for a while. In Settings -> Display there is a toggle to make the screen Extra Dim with another brightness slider and a couple of additional settings. Turning this toggle on and moving the slider to max brightness hasn’t made the screen any brighter but the phone now seems to remember my preferences and I haven’t had to manually change the brightness since yesterday. The last update was supposed to fix this but it didn’t for me so hopefully this post might save someone from some minor frustration.
