@felixkat99How now, brown cow?

Social MediaHere and Fakebook, the latter for keeping track of people. Google+ was great for getting to know people from all over for talking and having fun, and I still miss those people. Usenet groups were pretty good, too.

@carnitas

Fakebook creeper glasses. I wonder if they filter out the sex posts, propaganda and AI accounts on fb

@Swede1952 those things can empty an entire bird feeder in about 15 minutes.
@zoocoup live from WI - Lazar actually came off as more competent to me, but she's on a sinking ship, the SS Trump. For the record, I'm not complaining. Conservatives are destroying the USA as we know it. It's an indicator of how bad things appear to voters. Taylor beat Lazar 60% to 40%, so it wasn't close.

@samlitzinger

Anyone else notice that stocks are up, oil down this morning?

@aburtch @FluentInFinance exactly. That's when the country goes to hell.

@georgetakei

I'll tell you what, MTG seems to put country first. I am impressed. If she runs for prez in 2028. I'd vote Republican in the primaries just to keep rat fink JD Vance from becoming president. I don't necessarily agree with her politics, but we really need a leader who puts the nation and its citizens first.

@aburtch @FluentInFinance

I think It's going to be ugly if we eventually have to go to a universal basic income.

@noupside.bsky.social

From the article: "But every now and then, a FiveThirtyEight article would “go viral” on News Feed. When this happened, it seemed literally almost completely random. It wasn’t even particularly well-correlated with the headline. And it was inversely correlated with the depth and quality of the article."

This is Fakebook. The more dumbed down and vapid it is, the more it's accepted as normal.

@noupside.bsky.social

Thus, it's Fakebook to me. It's propaganda, sex trade, minimal thought, and activity trolling by accounts from all over the world. It's where critical thought ends and world views are expressed in memes. Racism is common.i block constantly - jiggly women and anything political to keep from going crazy. There are no friendships developed, and you leave not thoughtful, but feeling cheap.

@noupside.bsky.social FWIW, I have accounts at X and Fakebook

X - rarely login. It's the Elon Musk show, like it or not. There's no escaping it. I blocked Musk, and 12 Musk spinoff accounts popped up

FB is a joke that i use for entertainment, and for Marketplace, which has apparently replaced craigslist. Around 42% of the posts are AI generated, and I've seen statistics that estimate around 25% of comments are.
