On a bit of a roll at the moment! I've just finished a serial module with CTC and SIO. #RC2014
Yesterday, I built the floppy interface. Gaming like it's 1982! #RC2014
Woo hoo! My #RC2014 now has a 512k RAM/ROM card. My first PCB was a success! I can now run RomWBW.

Sent my first ever PCB design off to the board house today. Hopefully it will work!

Having said that, if it does work then I wonder why I didn't do this years ago.

I love Linux, I've used it for years but at the moment I am tracking down a really gnarly bug in a piece of code I wrote a couple of years ago that uses NCurses.

As with most C problems - it's memory allocation related.

Why isn't there a simple text library that can do the menu stuff without massive complexity? Why does everything have to change every five minutes (I have found my core dumps, now they are in the wrong format).

As I said, I love Linux - but sometimes "AAAAARAGH!"

One component missing, but I found it in Dad's component box. I wonder what project it was destined for?
I've been building an #RC2014 classic ][ over the past couple of evenings. Thankfully, it worked first time and I'll use it as a basis for further experimentation.

Non political Brexit rant - FWIW...

After much deliberation, I decided to buy a kit from the UK. So far so good.

Royal Mail postage: £7,95
DHL Postage: £40.89 😱

Unfortunately, Royal Mail pass the package to a "trusted partner" - so you don't know who you are going to get. This makes paying the customs fees significantly more difficult, as many of the other couriers don't have an office (like DHL) where you can pay the customs fees.

Don't think I'll bother 😪

Nope! It's switched on for a reason!
It isn't always easy to get spares for an almost 25 year old bike ☹️
