2023 was quite a good year for running for me.

Highlights were the London Marathon. I knocked 1h15 minutes off my only other marathon time, setting a new marathon PR 4:02:23.

I also managed a new HM PR at Birmingham HM, of 1:47:22. I'm convinced this was off the back of the marathon training.

I managed a parkrun PR of 22:47, again almost certainly off the back of the marathon training.

I'm also proud that I helped lead two C25K groups for my running club - that's always so enjoyable.

Goodbye Maxwell, we will miss you so much. Super cute, really friendly, sweet natured. I'll miss your polite arm taps, your "assertive" meows.
Back in Newcastle, wandering along the Ouseburn

We took a day trip to Lichfield yesterday. The cathedral library has a great number of bequests from the library of William Seymour, 2nd Duke of Somerset.

Seymour commissioned a translation of Vergil's works (done by John Ogilby). They have a copy on display in the chapter house.

Nice and warm and dry in the pub.
I'm not sure @option enjoyed it quite as much
I ran the #NewcastleFrontrunners #LGBT5k with my niece this year. It was very wet, and she loved it.
Worcestershire beacon. The threat of a downpour meant we called it a day when we got up North Hill.
Statue of Elgar in Great Malvern.
I love Great Malvern Station. All the columns are richly decorated, with botanical themes and brightly painted.
