Some folks have likened them to Obsidian, isometric rpg to third person scifi action RPG.
If the mechanics are ok, they have done a wonderful job of writing in the past so I’m optimistic.
Fingers crossed!
I’m all for new takes on the block game (been looking forward to Hytale and will definitely give it a go sometime in the near future) but after watching the trailer…
It would be hard for me to tell this isn’t Minecraft if I didn’t watch or look into the game on a semi regular basis. It looks incredible derivative.
I’m not saying it’s necessarily in need of the copyright strike I don’t know the rules, but I’m not surprised it got one.
So. Immediate feelings of outrage followed by a mental shrug post trailer viewing.
I think they are implying that no matter which shooter it is, most grandmother’s will have absolutely no clue at all. And, that would imply your mentioning the UI is wildly redundant or misguided because any analysis beyond “shooter” is waaaay out of Grandmas depth.
The XKCD just uses an example of people talking about details that are obviously nonsensical to anyone outside the “in group” (molecular sand lattice science people types).
You with your game knowledge, fall into the “in group” in this instance and the additional details are superfluous.
Don’t think it was a dig at you, just a noticed behaviour. We all do it, especially with topics that we are interested in.
I had a great teacher that did a wonderful job of contextualising it so loved it when I first was told the story.
It’s worth taking a dip into the history books to get a better sense of art culture at the time. It doesn’t ring of genius without it but when you realise just how audacious and tangential to the norm it was chefs kiss. Beautiful.
This is a wild take. Genuinely worried about how you are viewing the folks you interact with.
I spent a fair amount of time working in the food industry. It is way easier to just say what you legitimately would recommend rather then come up with a bizzare lie.
It’s sort of an odd position that exists right now in the anti Trump world.
I think the cavorting with Putin is definitely problematic but if I spoke about my reasons why it wouldn’t likely resonate with anyone pro-trump.
However, if you point out his “beta” moves it seems to cut a bit deeper or resonate with the folks near the fence and might be more effective at moving the needle.
BUT then you have used “man-o-sphere” language to convince folks and that in and of itself is a dangerous space to occupy or push folks towards.
So then need to consider if the bully language is more of a backpedal or is it worth it to get the result folks are looking for.
It’s just a whole lot of unpleasant and hasn’t even hit upon the host of other troubling problems that are happening or looming.
It’s bad in a way that makes me feel like we won’t see any reform untill there is massive upheaval.
So not sure if trying to call out/downvoting the fellow raging against the machine is the real solution but if it works for you I’m glad.
Not ment to be a criticism of your post, just wanted to type out the thought, I don’t usually post but find writing stuff out helps me cope/think through the ick.
