In the world of modern tech, got the GPU module for my Framework 16 laptop today
Have finally finished putting the Little Sixteen V4 together, ans success, boots first time (haven't put a SID in yet)
The Final part that was needed to be soldered onto the Little Sixteen V4 has arrived. Soldered it on, and did the smoke test and check voltages. Nothing went pop, and all ICs getting the 5 volts (some 5.17, but mostly 5.18). Now waiting on Mouser to ship the logic and RAM to properly test the board to see if I get a screen or not.
Was working on my Little Sixteen V4 yesterday. Now only missing the bridge rectifier at CR 100 before I can start testing voltages, and adding IC's. The missing part should arrive tomorrow hopefully
After a small hiccup (2 of the 3 cooling fans cables were just too short), have finally finished putting the Checkmate PC back together and finally back it its setup.
Since my PC build is just about 5 years old, have decided to give it a tune up. So have stripped it down so I can remove the dust. The plan is replace the fans (since I have noticed they started making some bad noises sometimes), replace the thermal paste with a thermal pad, and swap my GTX 1080 for a Titan XP. Currently waiting on Amazon to deliver the thermal pad the the additional power cable for my Titan XP.
Was starting to put some stuff away for the night when I had the thought to go through my spare parts, and lo and behold, found some of the capacitors and a trim resistor I needed. So added them to the board, in addition to the cartridge port shield and some jumpers. Since the board is designed with features that require certain addition parts, I filled in the through holes for the parts that I don't need fir my particular build, so I don't get confused thinking I forgot about them
Did a bit more work on the Little Sixteen V4 today. Added the two clock crystals, a bunch of ferrite beads, and most of the resistor packs. Just need a few more parts, and then I can start testing voltages on the board.
The replacement linear voltage regulator had arrived shortly after 3PM, and have swapped it in. Gonna test the VIC-20 for a bit, but if nothing comes up, will say its a fixed VIC-20
Have Confirmed that it was the keyboard connector that caused the issue with the keys on registering. Swapped it out and now its good to go. Also put a proper socket for the left VIA. Now just waiting on the mail to deliver the replacement linear voltage regulator, and this VIC-20 is good to go
