My 24 port switch is now fully populated, forcing me to confront the ancient mystery of port 17: It has not seen a packet in 90 days of logs and I have literally no idea where it goes... should I unplug it now, or wait until I actually need the port?

Early Slashdot’s development I started appending ‘fortune’ to make sure each run was unique during testing- a timestamp would have been so boring.
occasionally this required edits to the corpus- some were blue or rendered weird or just problematic, but (paraphrasing) ‘you are the one millionth visitor, let us know if we can do anything’, even after billions of page views occasionally resulted in an email from an excited reader thrilled that they were so lucky. Good times.
