Naturism that was the health movement at the start in later times moved far away from the original meaning, and while accepted nudity was included at the start, being healthy as it indeed is, most of all because of the acceptance, nudity was not all that it was about. Nudism is all that accepted nudity among others, naturism now being practiced is not really clearly definably distinct from that. And I'm fine with the term nudist for myself and I'm more like the early naturists with their meaning

FKK developed originally in Germany, it was the escape many found from the repression in urban society in Germany, and there was not as much repression of nudity as much as there was in the U.S. And there still is that. Naturism as originally meant started in France, I point out often now, with healthy eating and healthy activity, and to have healthy amounts of sun and air nudity came to be included, it was not the central focus then but a needed component.

Original naturism, in Europe long ago, was more holistic, with inclusion of anarchism and general avoidance of animal products, and healthy ways with physical activity getting adequate sun and air.
