How long before the relationship between Musk and Trump comes to a head?

"He’s behaving as if he’s a co-president and making sure everyone knows it. And he’s sure taking lots of credit for the president’s victory."

Musk's "Et tu, Brute?" moment.

"Grok, X's A.I. chatbot, was asked if X owner Elon Musk was responsible for spreading election misinformation—and Grok's answer was a brutal truth bomb."

Elon Musk's New Chatbot Is Astoundingly Vulgar

Boss of X said tech being tested is inspired by Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Elon's new ChatGPT clone, Grok, could actually emerge as a rival for news publishers. While I wouldn't advise using a TwitterGPT as a main source of news (😱), Grok definitely has access to a wealth of real-time "information".

Something to consider when posting all your content on X...

We're sending every editorial employee on a ChatGPT course to help them leverage AI. It's surprising to me that such initiatives aren't more common.

"There’s a risk of relegating AI to a specialized “nerd” corner that should not affect the “quality journalism” part of the newsroom."

In my experience, having skilled managers in every department is absolutely critical for leading change. I could even make the argument that managerial skills are more vital than journalistic skills.

(Sad) lesson from a failed attempt at building a Twitter alternative.

"Being kinder and safer is not enough of a differentiator, because kindness and safety by themselves aren’t interesting enough. There was not enough interesting content on the platform for the experience to become a daily habit"

It's baffling to me that the Washington Post, under Bezos's ownership, is losing digital readers and subscribers while overemphasizing print.

"Buzbee said that... the primary emphasis should no longer be on the print edition"

Makes me more comfortable with our own progress, though.

Whether this was a case of mistranslation, copying bad reporting, or some other factor, this was not legacy media's finest hour. We need to do better.

"after an extensive investigation... I have found zero evidence that the Health Ministry spokesperson ever said that more than 500 people had died"

Did the Entire Media Industry Misquote a Hamas Spokesperson?

I asked a dozen reporters and news outlets for the source of a statement they attributed to Hamas. None of them answered. This is a case study of the failure of journalistic standards.
