We are entering a SUPER-El Niño. Sea surface temps in the Pacific are increasing and will affect the United States. Worldwide, even regular El Niños accelerate the global warming trend and often push us to a new high-temperature mark. This is a much stronger than average El Niño.

Welp, looks like Europe is staying the course on that whole "liberal democracies working together thing." I think we're getting the "bye Felicia." I can't blame them. Hopefully, we can prepare some flowers and chocolates and ask her back in a few years. Heck, even a booty call and see how it goes?

The Trump administration is simultaneously stopping action and research on climate while also claiming a heating planet makes the acquisition of Greenland a more pressing issue because new Arctic shipping lanes for Russia and China are opening in the melting ice. Republican voters and leaders are going to have to be grown-ups and make up their minds. Is global warming real and a threat to be addressed, or not?

Okay, I did it. I supported my local NPR and PBS stations. Easy. And I'm of a modest income, so it's proportional. The best bonus ever is getting access to the FULL LIBRARY of the PBS streaming app on my TV. Years and years of content.
I’m very sad to find out Bill Moyers has died. His work touched my life deeply over the decades. From his universe-framing interviews with Joseph Campbell to his, um, universe-framing interviews with Neil DeGrasse Tyson. This one hits me.

NSIDC has disclaimer at top of their page. The DOD is "reducing the priority" of providing data on shrinking ice. Now looking to Japanese to help fill in the new data gaps. US gov can no longer be depended upon for measuring the developing effects of global warming.
