Steam just added screen reader support in the latest Big Picture Mode beta. On the Deck. On SteamOS. On Linux.
Not hacked in. Not community-patched. Built-in. From Valve.
There's an accessibility tab. There's a screen reader. There's high-contrast mode, UI scaling, color filters, reduced motion, and more.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but: I need a Steam Deck now.
Accessibility isn’t just coming to gaming — it’s here, and it’s official.
Let’s make some noise so they keep going.

ironic that we live in a time where everybody owns a computer with a mandatory button that spawns a supposed "magical genie", except for computer witches & wizards who specifically do *not* have such a button anywhere, nor do they wish to have one
uploading is done at a snails pace, but it will be available on https://archive.org/details/500-noises once all 725 MB has been uploaded at these sub-megabit speeds
500 noises : GSP Ltd, Sound Ideas : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Collection of 500 noises published by Global Software Publishing Ltd in 1997.Dumped with redumper.

i swear, the worst part about uploading stuff to archive.org is how slow it is

we're talking sub megabit speeds

it seems like a lot of people want the noises, please be patient while i'm doing the dumping and the scanning
anyone want some noises
#PicoGUS is now an ODE! I've just released firmware v3.0.0, which adds Panasonic CD-ROM drive emulation. Put some ISOs or BIN/CUE files on a USB stick, plug it into your PicoGUS, and you've got a virtual CD-ROM drive that works in DOS and Windows 9x and supports CD audio. [edit: fw v3.0.1 fixes MPU-401 output in modes w/ CDROM] https://github.com/polpo/picogus/releases/tag/v3.0.1
Release v3.0.1 · polpo/picogus

Fixes SB and USB modes Fixes MPU-401 output in SB and USB modes. It was broken by the introduction of CD-ROM emulation in SB mode and it never actually worked in USB mode!
