You know that's not true
These two women would have been able to access abortion services much earlier in the pregnancy, if they were in Europe instead of Oklahoma. This case is the kind of thing that restricting access to legal abortion early in pregnancies causes. This is the fault of the Oklahoma abortion bans

I have two trans friends. One was out before I knew her, so I can’t say much about her life before she transitioned, but the other was someone I knew in high school who transitioned between then and when we reconnected over social media. When she was still “he,” I always thought of “him” as a quiet, sad person. Now she’s positive and upbeat and constantly developing new skills to an amazing degree.

If that’s what transitioning can do to help someone who feels the way she did in high school, we should be supporting the people who transition, not being hostile toward them.

Oh I thought it was just a couple random people getting squicky about trans ladies using the ladies room? So you admit that it's an organized effort. I don't think I've ever seen someone move their goalposts in the wrong direction before lmao

Outlawing gender affirming medical care has zero impact on sports, you willful liar. No, the truth is that the people behind this movement are targeting trans people because they're the most convenient vulnerable group to rally hateful bigots around right now. Gay people are acceptable, the dog caught the car on the abortion "debate," and they need a new boogeyman to leverage to whip votes

Clarence Thomas Secretly Participated in Koch Network Donor Events - lemm.ee

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/5540248 [https://lemmy.world/post/5540248] > Thomas has attended at least two Koch donor summits, putting him in the extraordinary position of having helped a political network that has brought multiple cases before the Supreme Court > > On Jan. 25, 2018, dozens of private jets descended on Palm Springs International Airport. Some of the richest people in the country were arriving for the annual winter donor summit of the Koch network, the political organization founded by libertarian billionaires Charles and David Koch. A long weekend of strategizing, relaxation in the California sun and high-dollar fundraising lay ahead. > > Just after 6 p.m., a Gulfstream G200 jet touched down on the tarmac. One of the Koch network’s most powerful allies was on board: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. > > During the summit, the justice went to a private dinner for the network’s donors. Thomas has attended Koch donor events at least twice over the years, according to interviews with three former network employees and one major donor. The justice was brought in to speak, staffers said, in the hopes that such access would encourage donors to continue giving. > > That puts Thomas in the extraordinary position of having served as a fundraising draw for a network that has brought cases before the Supreme Court, including one of the most closely watched of the upcoming term. > >

Milley says military is not woke: ‘I’m not even sure what that word truly means’ - Lemmy.world

Army Gen. Mark Milley pushed back on claims from Republicans that the military is “woke” and as a result not prepared to take on modern threats, saying he’s “not even sure what that word truly means.” “What I see is a military that’s exceptionally strong. It’s powerful; it’s ready. In fact, our readiness rates, the way we measure readiness, is better now than they’ve been in years,” Milley said in a CNN interview Sunday. Republican politicians and candidates have blasted the Pentagon for so-called woke policies, pointing to efforts to recruit a diverse group of military service members and be inclusive to transgender soldiers. Those claims have also headlined efforts to reduce military spending.
