someone once asked me why i was so worried about the environment
i just said "i live there"
and they looked at me as if that fact had never once occurred to them
The C.O. Road
During WW1 conscientious objectors were held at Dartmoor prison and were made to build a road across the moor. It had no purpose, a road already existed a mile to the north. The only benefit of the road was the value of the land it went through. Owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. As is a lot of Dartmoor. The Duchy of Cornwall isn't a cuddly food producer. It's a vast landowner that exists to make money for one person.
