@mhkohne @ai6yr Yeah, the poster child for this is the internet satellite providers in geosynchronous orbits (Lookin at you HughesNet). Thats 25000 miles away, so the speed of light is an issue if you want to acknowledge a packet. They spoofed TCP to make it work (this rendering it marginally useless?).

@ai6yr The advantage of UDP over TCP is less traffic. The LoRa stuff we are using as an emergency comms backbone on our mountain (not Meshtastic) had to deal with that problem for certain messages. Always a tradeoff. Reliability has a traffic cost.
