When the James Damore bullshit first broke several reports said he had a biology PhD from Harvard because his LinkedIn had him listed as being in a PhD program there for two years. I let a couple of journalists know that this was unrealistic and questions were asked and Harvard confirmed (unsurprisingly) that he'd dropped out with a Masters instead.
